The FVS 3k Road Relays witnessed competitive performances from Ware Joggers across various categories. Here is a summary of their results:
The event showcased the competitive spirit and teamwork of Ware Joggers, with notable individual and team performances. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication!
"Well done to the 36 Ware Joggers who completed the final scoring race in Division 2 of the MWL last night at Trent Park. We have had a very good season again with great support at each fixture. We finished 3rd overall in the league with the men winning their division. In the Vets competition we won the league. Highlights of the night for me were Lucy Dupuis sprint finish and seeing Nick Cheal turn out for his first race." - Kev Francis - Men's Team Captain.
The last fixture of this year's Mid Week League is the Mob Match at Welwyn Garden City on Wednesday 10th July.
Full details below:
The Ware Joggers delivered an outstanding team performance at the Midweek League 2024, Race 3, hosted by Royston Runners and held at the picturesque Hyde Hall Farm near Buntingford. The women's team was led by Katy Woodward, who had an excellent finish, with notable contributions from Katrina Dobson, Anthea Francis, Lucy Dupuis, and Beverley McLees. Meanwhile, the men's team was spearheaded by Michael Waddington’s first-place finish, with significant support from Liam Struwe, David Craddock, Kevin Sambridge, and Ian Perrins.
The next race in the Midweek League, scheduled for June 27 and hosted by Barnet and District AC, is likely to be run at Trent Park. The race, starting at 7:45pm, is a perfect opportunity for new runners to join our team. Following tradition, the host club will provide refreshments after the race, making these events competitive and social, similar to cross-country meets. There is no entry fee for the races, and new runners are more than welcome to join, even if they haven't participated in earlier races.
Congratulations to all runners for their remarkable performances and team spirit. The Ware Joggers continue to show their strength and dedication in the Midweek League series. We look forward to more exceptional performances in the upcoming races. Keep up the great work!
The next race of the Mid Week League series is at Royston on 04/06/2024. Please keep hold of your numbers for the series and don't throw them away. It's still not too late to sign up and take part.
