Ware Joggers is a friendly, structured running club based in Ware, Hertfordshire.
Founded in 1987, we have grown steadily over nearly four decades into a club that balances community and performance in equal measure. We are proud of our history, but we are always looking forward.
Our members range from 17 to over 80 years old. Some are taking their first steps into organised running. Others compete at county level. Most fall somewhere in between. What connects us is a shared willingness to turn up, put the work in, and support each other along the way.
If you are looking for a running club in Ware, you will find experience, encouragement and structure here.
We are open to all abilities. Beginners are supported. Improvers are challenged. Experienced runners are pushed.
No one is left standing on their own at a session. Equally, no one is held back from progressing.
Our sessions are structured and led by qualified coaches, with multiple pace groups so that everyone trains at the right level. Whether you are building towards your first 5K or aiming for a new 10K or marathon personal best, you will train alongside others working towards similar goals.
We care about improvement, but we care just as much about people enjoying the process.
Many of our members joined knowing nobody. They stayed because they felt welcomed.
We train together during the week, race together at weekends, and support each other through setbacks as well as successes. Some members compete regularly. Others run primarily for fitness, health and routine. Many do both.
Being part of Ware Joggers means being part of a club that values commitment, consistency and encouragement. We take what we do seriously, but we do not take ourselves too seriously.
Ware Joggers is affiliated to England Athletics and competes in local cross country leagues, road race series and championship events throughout the year.
We have a strong presence across age groups and abilities. From team league performances to individual age category successes, our results reflect the depth of the club.
Structured training, qualified coaching and regular racing opportunities allow members to progress safely and confidently.
If you want to improve, there is a clear pathway here.
We are a volunteer run club with strong local roots. Our committee and coaches live locally and are invested in the long term future of the club.
We support and help organise major local events, including the Ware Festival of Running, and take pride in contributing to the wider running community.
Longevity matters. Governance matters. Safeguarding and affiliation matter. They give members reassurance that the club is stable, well organised and here for the long term.
If you want a running club that balances structure with inclusivity, heritage with progress, and competition with community, you will feel at home at Ware Joggers.
Come along and see what we are about.
